The Halifax Convention Centre Corporation is a joint entity between the Province of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional Municipality whose purpose is to operate, maintain and manage the activities of the Halifax Convention Centre in a manner that will promote and develop economic development, tourism, and industry in Halifax and Nova Scotia. The Board’s primary role is to oversee the strategic direction of the organization and ensure it carries out its mandate effectively.
The Corporation was established by the Halifax Convention Centre Act
, which came into effect on April 1, 2016. The 10-member Board of Directors consists of eight appointed members in addition to the Deputy Minister of Business and the Chief Administrative Officer of the Halifax Regional Municipality.
